Depending upon the time of year, Saturday mornings feature cricket, soccer, or hockey with local teams. Dog-trails and hiking areas. The main entrance is located at 416 Karori Road, between Tringham and Woodhouse.

Makara Peak Mountain Bike Park - A world-class mountain biking area. It is located on South Karori Road, between the two Hazlewood Avenue entrances.
